HOW IT HAPPENED
- Facing the top-seeded team in the NEHC, the Pilgrims played one of their best defensive periods of the season in the first, as NEC senior goalie Sean D'urso (Andover, Mass.) posted 22 saves in her first action of the season to keep the game scoreless at 0-0.
- In the second period, however, the Soaring Eagles adjusted and found openings in the NEC defense, scoring four goals off the sticks of freshman forward Emma Bradbury (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia), sophomore forward McKenzie Schmidt (Baldwinsville, NY), junior defender Madi Morton (Colorado Springs, CO) and graduate forward Mary McCafferty (Wall Township, NJ) in a balanced attack.
