BOSTON, Mass. - The New England College women's ice hockey team faced off in a losing effort against the Beacons of UMass-Boston in conference action on Saturday afternoon. 
 

THE BASICS 
Score:           New England College 0, UMass-Boston 2 
Record:         Pilgrims (4-12-1, 1-8-1), Beacons (7-9-1, 5-4-1) 
 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Pilgrims would start off the first period leading the contest in shots, until UMB first year Emily Hansen (Lake Villa, Ill.) would find the back of the net for the first goal of the contest with assists from sophomore Margeaux Butters (Snohomish, Wash.) and senior Cailey Kozich (Pittsburgh, Penn.) in the 15th minute. 

• Midway through the second period, Butters would extend the Beacons' lead to two with an assist from Kozich. 
   

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• NEC senior goalkeeper Sean D'urso (Andover, Mass.) would record 51 saves in her third appearance of the season.

• First year Olivia Lindberg (Enkoping, Sweden) would lead the 'Grims in shots in the matchup with 6.
   

UP NEXT 

• New England College will host Castleton Univ. on Friday night at 6:00 pm.  

• UMass-Boston will travel to the Univ. of Southern Maine at 6:00 pm on Friday.
