ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The New England College women's ice hockey team lost 3-1 at Johnson & Wales University on Friday evening at the New England Sports Village in Attleboro, Massachusetts in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Finding themselves in a two-goal hole midway through the first, NEC got on the board on a power play with 9:55 left in the period as freshman defender Gabrielle Iwinski (Batavia, Ill.) scored her second goal of the season to pull the 'Grims to within one at 2-1 with assists to freshman forward Isabella Marzano (Warwick, R.I.) and senior forward Cassie Kelly (Alexandria, Minn.).
JWU had goals from junior Logan Arseneau (Lake Forest, Calif.), sophomore forward Kaylin Garner (Eagle River, Alaska) and sophomore defender Reese Middendorf (Phoenix, Ariz.).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

NEC senior goalie Sean D'urso (Andover, Mass.) finished with 41 saves for the Pilgrims.
JWU sophomore goalie Anna Maulson (Lac Du Flambeau, Wis.) tallied 30 stops to lead the Wildcats to their second win of the season.
JWU outshot NEC, 44-31 overall.

NEC travels to UMass Boston for their next matchup, that coming on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
