HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's ice hockey team lost 5-1 to visiting Worcester State University on Saturday afternoon at Lee Clement Arena in Henniker, New Hampshire in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Down 1-0 after the first period, the 'Grims tied it up in the second when NEC junior forward Emily Lenzen(Littleton, Colo.) scored her team-leading third goal of the season with 6:51 to go, assisted by senior forward Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.). The score remained 1-1 going into the third period.
  • In the final stanza, the Lancers pulled away, outscoring the Pilgrims 4-0 with goals coming from graduate forward Clare Conway (Billerica, Mass.), senior forwards Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, Mass.) and Brandi Lee (Nashua, N.H.) and junior Amy MacGlashing (Marlborough, Mass.).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • NEC freshman goalie Amy Donnelly (Taunton, Mass.) tallied 28 saves on the day.
  • Worcester State senior goalie Amber Lee (Fairlawn, N.J.) stopped 33 of 34 shots for the Lancers.
  • Shots were 35-33 in favor of New England College.

UP NEXT

  • NEC goes on break, but the Pilgrims will return to the ice on Friday, December 2nd when they host the University of Southern Maine in a 6:00 p.m. game.
  • Worcester State travels to Curry College on Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. game.
