Box Score RUTLAND, Vt. – The New England College women's ice hockey team lost 4-3 in overtime at Castleton University on Saturday evening at Spartan Arena in Rutland, Vermont in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down 2-0 early in the first period, the Pilgrims rallied with goals from junior forward Emily Lenzen(Littleton, Colo.) late in the first and freshman forward Olivia Lindberg (Enkoping, Sweden) to tie it up at 2-2. With six points through five games, Lenzen leads NEC in scoring.
- At 6:40 into the third, NEC sophomore forward Kaiya Rodriguez (Winthrop, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season and the second of her career off a power-play, assisted by graduate defender Kaylee Cross(Arvada, Colo.) and freshman defender Gabrielle Iwinski (Batavia, Ill.) as the 'Grims took their first lead of the game at 3-2.
- With 5:45 to go and NEC closing in on their first league win of the season, Castleton freshman defender Rainey Lay (Highland, Utah) scored the equalizer, tying it up at three-all and sending the game into overtime.
- Just 3:41 into the extra period, Castleton junior forward Alex Johnson (Andover, Mass.) scored the game-winner for the Spartans.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC sophomore goalie Thea Joerö (Uppsala, Sweden) finished the night with 26 saves.
- Castleton sophomore goalie Izabella Segui (Newington, Conn.) finished with 27 stops.
- Shots on the night were tied at 30 all.
