HOW IT HAPPENED
The game started fairly even with neither team able to capitalize on any opportunities for the first quarter. Both teams had opportunities early but neither was able to come away with a goal. Just over a minute into the second quarter, the Owls were able to break through as they found the back of the net on an unassisted effort for the 1-0 lead. Keene State would stay persistent as several minutes later they struck again to extend their lead. The Pilgrims had some opportunities in the second quarter but could not capitalize. The Owls added one more with five seconds left in the quarter to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Play evened out in the third quarter as Keene State kept pushing but New England College was able to hold their own and get some opportunities. The Pilgrims made several efforts to score and finally broke through late in the quarter as Mikayla Vincent took a shot that slipped into the goal to make things 3-1. The Owls tightened up from there and held New England College scoreless for the rest of the game. Keene State added one more late in the fourth quarter as they claimed the 4-1 victory.
GOALKEEPERS
Ellie Philben picked up the start for the Pilgrims recording nine saves. Victoria Watson made the start for the Owls and made two saves while Molly Edmark played the second half and added seven more stops.

The two teams will meet up again on Thursday, April 15th as NEC will host the Owls at 7:00 p.m.
