Field Hockey: Six Pilgrims Earn GNAC All-Conference Honors

HENNIKER, N.H. - Six members of the New England College field hockey team were recognized in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference teams as part of the conference's postseason awards, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Sophomore Kira Geddes (Bow, N.H.) earned one of four forward spots on the GNAC All-Conference First Team after leading the team with 17 goals – good for sixth most in the conference. Geddes had four multi-goal games including a hat trick on September 6th against Albertus Magnus and scored in 11 of the team's first 13 games. Her four game-winners are tied for the third most in the conference. She was a fixture on the GNAC's Weekly Honor Roll, earning a spot four different times, and now appears to be a fixture on the GNAC's All-Conference First Team.

Sophomore Kennedy Overhoff (Whitefield, N.H.) joined Geddes on the GNAC All-Conference First Team as a midfielder. Overhoff took a jump from year one to year two, earning top All-Conference recognition in just her second season. She totaled nine points on three goals and three assists, but much of her impact was seen beyond the box score. Kennedy was one of the top defenders in the conference, a dominating presence in the middle of the field. Overhoff was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll twice during the season and now earns a well-deserved spot on the All-Conference First Team.

Senior Martina Hill (Abbot, Maine) earned the top spot on the back line on the GNAC All-Conference First Team. She had a superb senior season, starting all 20 games and leading a defense that allowed less than a goal per game and a conference-leading 0.87 goals-against average. Hill and the Pilgrims totaled 10 shutouts in 20 games this season. On offense, Martina added four goals, including a goal in the team's GNAC Quarterfinal win over Lasell. The All-Conference nod was Hill's first of her four-year career, which was capped off by being named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Senior Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) rounded out the GNAC All-Conference First Team selections with her second consecutive nod as the conference's top goalkeeper. Anderson led the conference in save percentage (.875), goals-against average (0.72), and shutouts (5). She ranked inside the top 10 nationally in both save percentage and goals-against average. In addition to her placement on the All-Conference First Team, Anderson was named the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year for a second straight season.

Senior Cristina Manzi (Peapack, N.J.) landed on the GNAC All-Conference for a second straight year after another strong season with eight goals and six assists. Her eight goals were tied for the second most on the team and tied for 15th in the conference. The senior leader shined in the team's 3-0 win over Lasell in the GNAC Quarterfinals as she scored twice, including the official game winner. She was a two-time member of the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll this season and is now a two-time recipient of All-Conference Third Team honors.

Junior Lauren Hall (Belfast, Maine) earned her first All-Conference recognition as a member of the GNAC All-Conference Third Team as a defender. Hall joins Hill as members of the conference-best NEC defense to be recognized. The junior captain started all 20 games for the 'Grims and never left the field. She was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week on September 22nd and now gets recognized as one of the top defenders in the league.

Junior Neila Jones (Rowley, Mass.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the second straight season.
