HOW IT HAPPENED
The Warriors started fast, as Isabel Sanchez scored, as her shot in the opening minute beat the NEC keeper. Eastern Connecticut controlled most of the action in the first half, as they outshot the Pilgrims 6-3 while maintaining a 5-2 advantage in penalty corners. ECSU expanded their lead in the second quarter, as Corey Callahan found the back of the cage on a penalty stroke.
Sanchez struck once again to begin the second half, as the freshman scored on a low shot from the right side. With just under 10 minutes left in regulation, Brianna Nolan made it 4-0 Warriors, as she capitalized on a rebound. In the final minute, New England College broke through, as Alivia Proulx's shot from the top of the circle beat the ECSU keeper.
GOALKEEPERS
Ellie Philben recorded eight saves for the Pilgrims, while Keira Integlia and Erin Fainer combined to pick up three for the Warriors.
