Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. - After another close game with Becker College the New England College Women's Ice Hockey Team fell short a goal as they fell to the Hawks 3-2, Saturday night.
The Pilgrims are now 0-5-1 on the season, while the Hawks move to 3-3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Another close game took place between New England College and Becker College Women's Ice Hockey Teams as they faced off for the second time in two days. Similar to the last time the teams met, it was back and forth throughout. The Hawks grabbed the lead 12:57 into the first period on a powerplay goal. But the Pilgrims battled back to tie the score with a powerplay goal from Emily Lenzen who was able to find the back of the net with a shot just inside the center of the blue line.
There was similar action in the second period. The team's traded opportunities back and forth before Becker College scored their second powerplay goal of the night restoring the lead they once had. But NEC quickly responded with an unassisted goal from Cassandra Kelly. Heading into the third period the game was tied 2-2.
The third period had a similar sight to what could be seen through the contest with the teams going shot for shot. It wasn't until 13:52 into the third period that Becker College would once again restore their lead with a goal from Cassidhe Wozniak, her second on the night. The Grims held strong and looked to tie the game back up in the final seconds when they were presented a powerplay opportunity with an extra attacker on the ice. But, New England College was unable to find the goal they so desperately fought for, giving Becker College the win 3-2.
GOALTENDERS:
The New England College goaltender Sean D'urso saved 31 of the 34 shots she faced on the night. While Becker College's goaltender Maddy Morgan saved 31 of the 33 shots she faced.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Cassandra Kelly led the Pilgrim's offense with a goal and an assist.
- Mikayla Vincent had a team-high eight shots on goal.
- Becker College won the faceoff battle tonight 27-21.
