HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first period, the Colonels would get on the board just over three minutes into the middle period. Asher Printzen was able to bead the NEC netminder to the near post to score on the powerplay. Emily Lenzen got the Pilgrims on the board at 14:03 of the second, as she tallied her second powerplay goal of the year. Her wrist shot from the top of the right circle beat the Curry goalie to the far post.
The hosts would strike three more times in the third period, as they peppered the NEC defense with 15 shots, compared to just three for the Pilgrims.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
