Box Score PAWTUCKET, R.I. The New England College women's ice hockey team dropped their final road contest 3-0 to Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) in New England Hockey Conference action, Saturday Evening at Lynch Arena.
The Pilgrims drop to 3-19-1 on the year and 0-13-1 in NEHC action, while the Wildcats improve to 9-9-4 overall and 6-4-3 in conference action

HOW IT HAPPENEDJohnson & Wales came out on the attack in the first period, as they outshot New England College 11-2 in the opening 20 minutes. The Wildcats were able to get on the board nearly halfway through the first, as Hannah Tracy found the back of the net.
The tide turned in the second period, as the Pilgrims outshot the host 13-6. Just past the eight-minute mark in the middle period, Tracy picked up her second goal of the contest, putting JWU up 2-0.
Heading into the third period, NEC applied the pressure as they continued to outshoot the Wildcats, 11-5. With just under three minutes left in regulation, Kaitlin Irvine potted the insurance goal for the host.
GOALTENDERSCianna Weir registered 19 saves for the Pilgrims, while Jasmine Mucci had collected 26 saves for the shutout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS- The Pilgrims outshot the Wildcats 26-22 in the contest.
