Women's Ice Hockey Drops 4-1 Decision to Becker College

Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. The New England College women's ice hockey team fell to Becker College 4-1 in non-conference action Friday evening at Lee Clement Arena.
The Pilgrims drop to 0-14-1 on the season, while the Hawks are now 4-7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks had the majority of opportunities in the first period but were unable to do much for most of the period. Becker had two power-play opportunities in the first 10 minutes but the Pilgrims turned each one away as the game remained scoreless. On their fourth power-play opportunity of the period, the Hawks were finally able to score for a 1-0 lead with four minutes remaining in the period. New England College was unable to score in the period as it closed at 1-0.

In the second period, Becker was able to score six minutes to extend their lead to 2-0. About three minutes later, the Hawks added another for a 3-0 lead. The Pilgrims were unable to score in the second period despite several quality chances on power play opportunities. The score held at 3-0 heading into the final frame. Becker added one more late in the third for a 4-0 lead. With just under two minutes remaining Kaylee Cross was able to find the back of the net on a power-play opportunity. Julia Radcliffe and Tatiana Fedeneva picked up assists on the goal.

GOALTENDERS
Sean D'urso made 30 saves in the contest. Amber Lee picked up 41 saves for the Seahawks in the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Pilgrims won 67 percent of the faceoffs on the night (47 of 70).
- Following the game, the all-time series is now 2-1-1 in favor of the Hawks.

The Pilgrims head down to Worcester, Mass on Saturday, January 11th at 1:20 pm, as they wrap up the home-and-home series with the Hawks.
