HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One Eastern Nazarene 1, New England College 0
Neither team could muster much offense as the Pilgrims managed only one hit in the contest. Jasmin Alvarado doubled to left field with one out in the top of the sixth inning. However, Elisabeth Schaffer worked her way out of the inning with two strikeouts and stranding the runner. The lone run of the contest came in the bottom half of the sixth inning. Lauren Clements found a pitch she could drive and homered to center field which have the Lions a 1-0 advantage. They later added two base runners in the inning but couldn't capitalize. In their last at-bats of the game, the Pilgrims sent three batters to the plate and all three put balls in play but the Lion defense completed the plays to record the outs.

Taylor Barbour struck out 11 batters in 6.0 innings pitched. She allowed four hits and one run. Barbour is now 9-3 on the season.

Game Two Eastern Nazarene 5, New England College 0
The Lions recorded three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Emily Farone got the first out of the inning before giving up a double. Schaffer found another pitch she could drive and hit her second homerun of the day. Clements was the next batter and she found the same result as Schaffer as the Lions hit back-to-back homeruns. However, Farone would strike out her next batter and get out of the inning on the next batter. The teams scattered hits and left base runners over the middle innings until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Lions added two more runs to their lead. NEC earned two base runners in the top of the sixth inning but the runners were stranded on base, which was the last opportunity for the Pilgrims to capitalize on baserunners.

Farone is now 4-2 on the season after striking out three batters in 6.0 innings of work.
