MARSHFIELD, Mass.-The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced their weekly award selections for the week ending 4/22/19.
SoftballDaelyn Ross had an explosive week, helping lead the Pilgrims to a 4-0 record, to earn both Rookie and Player of the Week honors. The rookie batted .750 (9-12) and slugged 1.917 while boasting 10 RBI's and seven runs. Ross totaled an impressive four home runs and two doubles in her four games totaling 23 bases and six extra-base hits. On the week the first year had at least two hits in each game while recording three games with 3 ribbies.
Taylor Barbour received NECC Pitcher of the Week honors as she posted a solid week for the Pilgrims going 3-0 in the circle. The sophomore boasted a 0.00 ERA while striking out 26 batters in 17 innings of work. The pitcher recorded two complete games on the week.
The Pilgrims takes on Regis College on Wednesday for a doubleheader before their senior day on Saturday, April 27
th vs Newbury College. They close out the regular season on Sunday, April 28
th at Elms College.
Women's LacrosseTara Bainbridge posted another explosive week recording an impressive 43 points in three wins, earning her NECC Player of the Week. The senior broke the school record for goals and points in a game with her 16 points performance against Norwich. Bainbridge also picked up 18 ground balls, 14 draw controls and forced 6 turnovers on the week.
Sofia Castriotta picked up the NECC Rookie of the Week award this week after she helped lead the Pilgrims to a 3-0 week. The rookie started the week with two goals in a victory over Norwich before posting a 4-point effort against Dean followed by adding an assist against Southern Vermont. The attacker also picked up four ground balls on the week and one caused turnover.
Women's Lacrosse closes out the regular season this week, as they host Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday, April 24
th at 4:00 p.m. before traveling to take on Elms College on Saturday, April 27
th at 1:00 p.m.
