Box Score HENNIKER, NH. The New England College women's ice hockey team fell in their home opener to Plymouth State University 6-0 in NEHC action in Henniker, Saturday Evening.
The Pilgrims drop to 0-6-0 on the season, while the Panthers pick up their second win of the 2019-20 season and move to 2-3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first period saw some opportunities from both teams but the Panthers had the majority of possessions. Plymouth State saw many opportunities but the Pilgrims were able to turn them all away for the majority of the period. With just under five minutes remaining in the period, the Panthers were able to find the back of the net and take a 1-0 lead. New England College had a power-play opportunity late in the period but was unable to capitalize despite some quality chances. No other goals were scored and PSU took a 1-0 lead into the second period.

The Panthers struck early in the second to take a 2-0 lead just over three minutes into the period. The Pilgrims picked up a five-minute major but were able to successfully kill off the penalty in the second half of the period. Plymouth State was able to find the back of the net two more times in the last two minutes of the period. The Panthers finished the period with a 4-0 lead. Plymouth State added two more late in the third period to extend the lead to 6-0. The Panthers held on to the lead for a 6-0 win.

GOALTENDERS
Cianna Weir made 39 saves in the contest. Becca Bridge picked up theshutout with 24 saves.
