Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. The New England College women's ice hockey team earned a 6-0 Senior Day victory over Anna Maria College on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, the Pilgrims improve to 3-16-1 overall while the AMCats fall to 1-13-0 on their season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims struck very early into the contest as Brittany Tierney got the Senior Day festivities off to a blazing start. It took just 12 seconds for the Pilgrims to strike. Vicki Shaw and Alexa Scribner both fired shots on goal which resulted in saves but Tierney was sitting on the doorstep and beat the Amcat goaltender. Nearly six minutes later, the Pilgrims doubled their lead when Cortney Reyes put home a rebound shot. Reyes set the play up as she made a cross-ice pass to Erica Lissner. Lissner got the puck behind the net and pushed a pass to Tara Turcotte who moved into the left faceoff dot. Her shot was saved but the rebound leaked out to the goaltender's right and Reyes pushed the puck to the back of the goal.

After a scoreless second period, the Pilgrims struck four more times in the final frame. Shaw, Kathleen Zimmerman, Turcotte, and Maisie Tatum-Borich recorded the four goals.

GOALTENDERS
Ashley Castriotta made 14 saves on 14 shots to record her third career shutout. She is now 2-4-0 on the season. Her counterpart, Gabrielle Gibson, made 56 saves on 62 shots on goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-This is the first-ever matchup between the Pilgrims and AMCats in women's ice hockey. The Pilgrims are now 1-0-0 all-time against the Anna Maria.
-Of the six goal scorers, four of them were members of the senior class.
