Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College women's ice hockey team dropped a nonconference matchup to Amherst College on Tuesday afternoon by a 3-1 score.
The Pilgrims will fall to 1-7-1 on the season while the Mammoths will improve to 1-1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims came out firing, scoring on the first shot of the game and at the 15 second mark. Erica Lissner (Woburn, Mass.) recorded the goal with the assist going to Alexa Scribner (Falmouth, Mass.). However, the Mammoths would respond quickly as the contest was tied at one just three minutes later. Katelyn Pantera was credited with the goal.
Jocelyn Hunyadi earned the game-winning goal by tipping home a Stephanie Nomicos shot from the point. Hunyadi would add an insurance goal late in the second period. Her two tallies marked her second and third of the season.
GOALTENDERS
Cianna Weir (Olds, Alberta) made 37 saves on 40 shots on goal for the Pilgrims. She is now 0-4-1 on the season. Caroline Booraem made her first start of the season. She made 10 saves on 11 shots on goal.

The Pilgrims will travel to Sacred Heart University for a weekend doubleheader on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
