Women's Ice Hockey Falls in Overtime to Plymouth State, 2-1

Box Score PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The New England College women's ice hockey team fell to Plymouth State University in overtime in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) action on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Pilgrims will fall to 1-5 overall with a 1-3 record in the NEHC. Plymouth will improve to 2-3-1 overall with a 2-1-1 record in the NEHC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Plymouth State's Amber Thomas got the Panthers ahead in the contest early. Just over four minutes in, Thomas fired home a shot that marked her first of the season. Vicki Shaw (Dracut, Mass.) would respond late in the second period with her first goal of the season. She tipped a shot on goal by Julia Radcliffe () on the powerplay.

The game would head to overtime and just over one minute into the extra frame, Alexis Fagan flipped a shot over the blocker of the Pilgrim goaltender to give the Panthers the 2-1 victory.

GOALTENDERS
Cianna Weir (Olds, Alberta) stopped made 50 saves on 52 shots on goal, including all 24 she saw in the third period. Alex Rejsigl made 17 saves on 18 shots in the victory.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Pilgrims will travel to Norwich University on Friday evening. The NEHC matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. start time.
