Hudson Named NAC Player of the Week

HENNIKER, N.H.-Sophomore Rene Hudson (Gallatin, Tenn.) of the New England College women's basketball team has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Additionally, Hudson was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) weekly honor roll.

Hudson averaged 26 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in a 3-0 week for the Pilgrims. The sophomore scored a week-high 34 points in NEC's win over Thomas on Saturday, while also tallying 11 rebounds, two assists and one block. Earlier in the week, the guard netted 26 points on 9-for-16 shooting to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and one steal in a win over UMaine-Farmington. Hudson also netted 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished two assists, claimed one steal and earned one block to begin the week with a 65-56 win over Lyndon.

Hudson has been an impact player for the Pilgrims during its current five-game winning streak, which began last Saturday, January 20th with a 79-77 overtime win in which Hudson scored a program-record 43 points.

The Pilgrims (11-7, 7-5 NAC) return to action on Monday night for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference game against Plymouth State University.
