Women's Ice Hockey Shutout by No. 10 Endicott, 5-0

BEVERLY, Mass.-The New England College women's ice hockey team suffered a 5-0 loss to No. 10 Endicott College on Friday afternoon in non-conference play.

The win boosts Endicott to 13-0-1 on the season, while NEC falls to 1-12-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims battled the nationally-ranked Gulls to a nearly-scoreless first period on the strength of 20 saves by goaltender Jacqueline Clark (Dorchester, Mass.), until Endicott managed to sneak in their first goal of the game with just 33 seconds left in the period.

The Gulls tacked on two more goals in the second period for a 3-0 lead, despite 12 more saves by Clark. She also recorded 15 saves in the third period to total 49 total saves, her second-highest single-game total this season.

Endicott netted their fifth and final goal of the game with just one second left in the game on a breakaway by Ashlie Jones.

GOALTENDERS
Clark finished with 49 saves in her 10th decision of the season. Endicott's Vendela Jonsson stopped all 14 shots she faced.

The Pilgrims will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Salem State for a 2:00 p.m. non-conference game.
