THE BASICS
The New England College women's ice hockey team is hosting the Hawks of Becker College for a non-conference matchup. This is the third game of four on the Pilgrim home stand.
SCOUTING THE PILGRIMS
The Pilgrims were in action on Saturday afternoon against Nichols. The Pilgrims fell 6-4 in that contest and are now 1-7-1 on the season. Haley Wheeler earned her first two goals of her career. She scored the first goal of the contest and broke a three goal streak by Nichols. Julia Radcliffe and Kristen Dukette added goals for the Pilgrims. Brittany Tierney leads the team in scoring with three goals. Six other Pilgrims have two goals each. Julia Radcliffe, Kathleen Zimmerman, and Morgan Lamos have four assists to lead the team in that category. Overall, Radcliffe leads the team in points with six, two goals and four assists.
Jackie Clark has been the go to in goal for NEC. She has appeared in seven games with a 1-5-1 record. She has faced 232 shots, stopping 200 of them for a .862 save percentage with a 4.74 Goals Against Average.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
The Hawks have started their season with a 1-8-2 record. They fell to Sacred Heart in their last contest by a 3-1 score.
Bailey Coons leads the team in scoring with four goals. Claudia Gee and Nikolle Storey leads the team in assists with three each. Gee also leads the team in points with six, three goals and three assists.
Madison Rigsby has appeared in ten games for the Hawks with an 1-6-2 record. She has faced 425 shots, stopping 404 of them for a .951 save percentage with a 2.32 Goals Against Average.
Last season the Bison went 8-16-2 overall record with a 2-10 record in the CHC. They fell to SUNY Canton in the CHC Quarterfinal.
HEAD TO HEAD
This will be the 3rd meeting between the schools all-time. NEC is 1-0-1 against the Hawks. The two teams tied last season, 2-2, in Worcester, Mass.
