HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College women's volleyball team was selected 8th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll conducted by the league's 14 head coaches.
NEC sits firmly in the middle of the conference in this preseason outlook, being predicted to fight for a playoff spot for the third consecutive season in the conference. The 'Grims sit just behind Colby-Sawyer who was selected 7th and ahead of Dean in 9th.
Lasell earned the top spot in the preseason coaches' poll, earning nine first-place votes and 190 total points. Regis came in second with 174 points and three first-place votes, while Emmanuel earned one top-place vote and 155 points. Rivier, who the Pilgrims fell to in a closely contested GNAC play-in matchup a year ago, earned the final first-place vote and was slotted in at sixth.
The 'Grims start their season with four games in Texas before returning home to host their home opener against Husson on Friday, September 5th. They begin their conference slate on Friday, September 19th against Norwich on the road.
