Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – Playing in their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in school history, the New England College women's soccer team lost 2-1 to visiting Rivier University on Wednesday evening at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire.

- Down 2-0 with 6:11 to go in the first period, NEC sophomore defender Chloe Beausoleil (Groton, Mass.) was awarded a free kick and launched a beautiful arcing shot that just reached over the keeper's hands and in for her first career goal, pulling the 'Grims to within one at 2-1. The second half was hotly contested as New England College fought to find the equalizer against a side in Rivier that focused on preserving their advantage. A pair of corner-kicks in the 86th minute came up short for the Pilgrims, and Rivier ultimately held on for the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC sophomore goalkeeper Stephanie Bronowicki (Corona, Calif.), the inaugural GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week for the 2023 season, tallied seven saves on the night for the 'Grims in another strong performance.
- Rivier sophomore goalkeeper Bri Nugent (Killingworth, Conn.) had two stops for the Raiders in the first half.
- River graduate defender Jillian Arigo (Peabody, Mass.) scored the Raiders first goal of the game seven minutes in, then assisted on a second in the 33rd minute, that coming off a booming kick from a half a field away that caught a streaking junior forward Kaylee Magoon (Loudon, N.H.) behind the defense and saw the visitors take a 2-0 lead.
- Rivier graduate forward Emily Lizotte (Hudson, N.H.) led all players with five shots on the night.
- The Raiders enjoyed a 21-9 edge in shots over the Pilgrims.
