HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite dominating time of possession and scoring chances, the Owls were stymied by a scrappy 'Grims defense that managed to keep the game scoreless until 26:19 left in the second half when Keene State freshman midfielder Bryn Dickinson (Quaker Hill, Conn.) found senior midfielder Elizabeth Kopicko (Nashua, N.H.) right in front of the goal on a brilliant cross from the right sideline, giving the Owls their first lead of the game at 1-0. After that, Keene State would pull away with three more goals on the day.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- NEC sophomore goalkeeper Hollie Bomba (Seymour, Conn.), playing in her first start of the season, tallied 17 saves in goal for the Pilgrims, a career high.
- Keene State sophomore goalkeeper Riley Andriski (Newmarket, N.H.) posted the shutout for the Owls.
- The Owls enjoyed a 34-1 advantage in shots on the day.
- Keene State sophomore midfielder Riley Devine (Salem, N.H.) scored in the 68th minute, that strike coming off an assist by freshman midfielder Emily O'Connell (Plymouth, Mass.).
- With 12:18 remaining in the game, Devine scored her second goal of the game, giving the Owls the 3-0 lead.
- With 1:51 left, Keene State junior defender Avery Amalfitano (Danbury, Conn.) made it 4-0 for the final score.
