THE BASICS
Score: Thomas 1, New England College 1
Records: Pilgrims 0-1-1 | Terriers 0-0-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers struck just 2:42 into the game when Thomas first-year forward Aminah Davis-Macias (Sacramento, Calif.) scored her first career goal to put the visitors ahead 1-0. That score would hold up going into the intermission.
- A flurry of corner kicks from the 'Grims in the 58th minute appeared to be NEC's best chance of finding the equalizer to that point, but the Terrier defense held up and escaped the threat.
- With 4:30 remaining, a free kick from NEC senior Reese Hultgren (Charlton, Mass.) resulted in back-to-back corner kicks for the Pilgrims. Then with 3:38 to go, Hultgren would take a pass from freshman midfielder Fernanda Rojas (Puebla, Mex.) and score to tie the game up for the first time since the opening minutes.
