HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's soccer team lost 8-0 to visiting Clarkson University on Saturday in the 2022 NEC Classic at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Clarkson freshman midfielder Lillian Gillett (Irondequoit, N.Y.) got the scoring started ten minutes into the game when she scored a header off a corner from sophomore forward Chloe Hodge (Manlius, N.Y.) for her third goal of the year as the Golden Knights went up 1-0.
• Clarkson senior midfielder Sarah Kohls (Queensbury, N.Y.) exploded for two goals in the 28^th minute of the game – her team-leading third and fourth of the year – as the visitors went into halftime leading 3-0.
• In the 48^th minute, it was Hodge taking the ball up right side and taking a beautiful shot to the upper-left hand corner of the net to put the visitors up by four.
• From there, the Golden Knights were never threatened.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• NEC freshman goalkeeper Hollie Bomba (Seymour, Conn.) tallied 14 saves in just her second career start. Clarkson sophomore netminder Molly DiCaprio (Guilderland, N.Y.) finished with one stop for the Golden Knights.
• Shots were 48-3 in favor of the Golden Knights.
• It was only the second time ever that Clarkson and NEC have met in women's soccer action, with the Golden Knights coming out ahead in both contests.

• NEC will be back on the field on Wednesday when they travel to Castleton for a 4:00 p.m. match.
