Box Score NEWTON, Mass. – The New England College Field Hockey Team dropped their first game of 2021, as Lasell University pulled out a 4-3 win over the Pilgrims, in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New England College started out on the attack, as the Pilgrims struck first, as Drea Chin scored 2:59 into the contest. Lasell was able to strike back six minutes later, as Sage Dodier was able to score off of a rebound. Kacie Weston joined on the rapid scoring, as she potted her second goal of the year, just over a minute after the Laser goal. Drea Chin pushed the New England College lead to 3-1 after she scored in the 12th minute.
Trailing 3-1 entering the second quarter, Sheridan Blaha was able to get Lasell within on with her goal in the 18th minute.11 minutes later, Lily Stark tied the game with her first of the year.
Neither team was able to take a lead in the third quarter, but NEC outshot Lasell 7-0 in the quarter. With just under three minutes remaining in regulation, the Lasers were able to take the lead, as they capitalized off of a penalty corner. Ellie Philben made the initial stop, as she saved a Stark shot, but Dodier put in the rebound, giving Lasell the late lead. The 'Grims had a chance at the end, but Courtney Tello made two saves in the final 90 seconds to secure the win for the host.

- NEC outshot the Lasers 22-12 in the contest, while also maintaining a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners.
