HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening minutes, neither team was able to establish offense. Gordon was able to get two corners in the early going, but it only resulted in one shot. NEC flipped the script, as Felicia Glanberg and Mackenzie Fels fired shots, but nothing resulted from it. Calla Ashley kick-started the Gordon offense, as she had four straight shots. Her fourth shot proved to be the difference in the game, as her shot from the near sideline, hooked into the far corner of the net. Following the goal, Gordon outshot New England College 4-2 before the half.
In the second half, the Fighting Scots outshot NEC 10-2, with six shots on goal, compared to one for the Pilgrims.
