Women's Soccer Stumbles at Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The New England College Women's Soccer team dropped their second-straight game, as they fell to Clarkson University 4-0 in the first game of their New York trip, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Clarkson came out on the attack, as the hosts fired nine shots in the opening 17 minutes. The Golden Knights finally broke through in the 23rd minute, as Julia Cascone found Sarah Kohls all alone, who scored on the wide-open net. Less than 20 minutes later, Hannah Letourneau's shot found the top left corner of the cage, making it 2-0 Clarkson. CU would head into the intermission leading in the shot department 19-1 while maintaining a 7-0 advantage in corners.

Midway through the second half, the Knights picked up a pair of insurance goals. Late in the 65th minute, Cascone picked up her second assist of the game when she found Tonia Kousmanidis in front for a 3-0 Clarkson lead. Less than 10 minutes later, Chloe Hodge sent a pass into the box where Rylee Marin settled the ball near the 18. With time to assess her options, Marin found Angelina Fahrenkrug, who ripped a shot to the right corner for the final tally of the contest.
