Box Score WENHAM, Mass. – The New England College Women's Volleyball pulled away down the stretch to pick up their first win of the year, as they defeat Bard College 3-1, Friday evening at Gordon College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first two sets, neither team was able to pull away, as New England College had the largest lead of seven points (17-12) in the first set. NEC would come away with the first set 27-25. Bard would return the favor, as they won the second set, by the same score, 27-25.
The Raptors would begin the third set on a run, as they quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Following a Pilgrims' timeout, NEC would take their first lead of the set at 10-9, and then run away with the set, 25-16.
The fourth set was all 'Grims. New England College ran out to an 8-0 lead, but that quickly ballooned to 20-4. Bard would make things interesting, as they claimed nine of 13 points, but a kill from Shirita Wimberly ended the Raptors' hopes. NEC took the fourth set 25-14, winning the match 3-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Tatiana Sampson paced both sides with 11 kills, while Amber Thi was right behind her with nine.
- Kenzie Barron led NEC with 16 assists and five aces, while Tihani Ehia recorded 14 assists.
- Wimberly and Jaycie Kodama were solid defensively, with 25 and 23 digs respectively.
- NEC now leads the all-time series 1-0
