Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – The New England College Volleyball team picked a tightly contested 3-1 win over Colby-Sawyer College, in non-conference action, Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set was tightly contested, but with both teams tied at 5-5, the Pilgrims were able to grab seven straight points to go up 12-5. The Chargers slowly cut into the deficit, but the Pilgrims were able to hold off CSC to take the first set 25-23.
The second set was the same as the first, as neither side was able to take control. The two teams traded points throughout the set, but Colby-Sawyer was able to pull away at the end. Mia Harmon sealed the second set for the Chargers with a block.
In the third set, it was all the score was within three or four points for the majority of the set. With the score sitting at 10-8 CSC, the Pilgrims were able to charge past the hosts, and take 17 of the next 20 points to claim the third set 25-13.
The fourth set saw the continuation of the back-and-forth play, as Colby-Sawyer had the largest lead of the set at 13-8. The 'Grims were able to capitalize on eight CSC attacking errors in the set to take the lead, and eventually the set, 25-23
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shirita Wimberly (11) and Amber Thi (10) both record 10+ kills.
- Kenzie Barron picked up a game-high 28 assists, while Jaycie Kodama (15), Amaya Avaloz (12), and Wimberly (10) had double-digit digs.
- After picking up their 11th win in September, it is the most wins in a single month in program history.
- The Pilgrims are now 3-1 against their New Hampshire foes.
- NEC has now tied up the all-time series at 3-3.
