Box Score HENNIKER, N.H.- Leeann Demirjian buries a penalty kick in the 106th minute to lift the New England College Women's Soccer Team past Fitchburg State University, 2-1 in non-conference action, Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first half, New England College controlled most of the play, as they outshot Fitchburg 16-7. With 15 minutes remaining in the first half, Leeann Demirjian was able to control a bouncing ball 35 yards out, and her shot went just over the Fitchburg State keeper's head, making it 1-0 NEC.
Coming out of the break, Fitchburg went on the attack. It wasn't until the 59th minute when the Falcons got on the board. Abbey Quirbach crossed it through the NEC box, finding the foot of Shannon McCarthy. Both teams had chances later in the second half, but neither team was able to win it in regulation.
New England College had an excellent scoring chance in the first overtime period, as Delaney Dupuis and Leeann Demirjian had back-to-back shots following a corner, but the Pilgrims were ruled offsides following the two shots. The game would head into the second overtime period, where NEC controlled action. With 4:34 left, Fitchburg State was called for a handball, awarding the 'Grims with a penalty shot. Demirjian was able to win it for New England College, as she beat the FSU keeper to the low left side of the cage.
