Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – For the first time in program history, the New England College Women's Volleyball team defeated Keene State College, 3-0, in non-conference action, Thursday evening in Bridges Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first set, neither team was able to take control early on, as the largest lead of the set was three points. The Owls grabbed a three-point lead at 24-21, but with Keene State about to take the first set, the Pilgrims came roaring back with five straight points to clinch the set.
The second set was still tightly contested, as Keene held a 13-9 lead, but NEC battled back to snag six straight points to regain a 14-13 lead, capped off by a kill from Jaycie Kodama. New England College would carry their momentum throughout the remainder of the set and win the set 25-21, to go up 2-0.
In the third set, the Pilgrims were able to jump out to a 5-2 early advantage. Keene State would rally back to grab a 12-10 lead, but that was short-lived, as the NEC regained the lead at 16-15. Despite KSC battling back, the 'Grims were able to pull away down the stretch and take the third set, 25-20, and the match, 3-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The combination of Amber Thi and Tatiana Sampson accounted for 26 of the Pilgrims' 39 kills.
- This is the third team this year that NEC has beaten for the first time.
