HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions had a strong start to the game as they had early and consistent offensive pressure. Eastern Nazarene was able to get a few shots off early but could not make anything of it. About halfway through the first period, the game shifted in favor of the Pilgrims as they started to take control. From there on out New England College dictated play and controlled the majority of possession. Just over 26 minutes in the Pilgrims were attacking as Sofia Gomez-Pedreora played a ball out to Madeline Parisi who took a deep shot that beat the goalie high for a 1-0 lead. New England College kept pushing and was able to put another one in after a strong offensive effort. Sofia Gomez-Pedreora was able to put a ball in on the backside after a strong attack as Felicia Glanberg played the ball across. With that goal, the Pilgrims went into the break, up 2-0.
New England College did not slow down in the second half as Khaya Sims beat the goalie just over a minute into the period for a 3-0 lead. The Lions gained some momentum late but were not able to put much together as the Pilgrims claimed the 3-0 win on Senior Day.
