HOW IT HAPPENED
Amherst was able to come out on the attack, as they were able to outshoot the Pilgrims 22-0 in the opening 45 minutes. Emily Sashko was able to hold strong as she recorded six saves in the first half. The Mammoths were able to get on the board in the 34th minute, as Abby Schwartz was able to get by the New England College backline and beat Sashko to the low left corner.
The Mammoths were able to double their lead in the 74th minute, as a pass from Schwartz feed to the top of the box, where Patience Kum fired the ball into the lower right corner of the cage. The lead would grow to 3-0, as Clarie Nam tapped in the rebound after a diving save by Sashko.
