(Unassisted)HOW IT HAPPENEDThe first half saw chances from both teams with neither able to find the back of the net and some key defensive stops and saves on both ends. The Pilgrims recorded the first shot of the game just 22 seconds into the match. From there the Falcons put pressure on with some good scoring opportunities, but Pilgrims keeper
Allie Stoddart was able to turn each one away. Stoddart recorded 6 saves in the half. New England College had some quality scoring chances as well with 4 shots on goal.
The Pilgrims were able to start the second half strong with a couple of scoring opportunities early on. NEC was then able to find the back of the net off a shot from Felecia Glanberg just over five minutes into the half. The Pilgrims continued their attack with several corner kicks and some shots. The Falcons managed to make a late push in the final minutes of regulation with some quality opportunities but each was turned away as they were unable to score. New England College was able to hold on for a 1-0 win.
GOALTENDERSAllie Stoddartpicked up the shutout, after collecting eight saves in the contest for the Pilgrims. Dania Politi recorded seven stops on the afternoon for the Hawks.
