Box Score 2 HENNIKER, N.H. Southern Vermont College scores a combined 12 runs in the fourth inning, as they sweep the New England College baseball team in New England Collegiate Conference action Sunday afternoon at Laurie Cox Memorial Field.

HOW IT HAPPENEDGame One - Southern Vermont College 11, New England College 4The Mountaineers struck first, as Zack Stacey scored on a throwing error by the NEC catcher. SVC expanded their lead in the top of the second, four more runs would cross the plate with just two hits. In the bottom half of the inning, NEC got on the board, as
Jeam Castillo doubled home Luis Atiles. Castillo struck again in the third, as he singled home both Xavier Nunez and Evan Delaney.
Southern Vermont would explode for five runs in the fourth inning, capped off by a three-run home run by Brandon Lara-Mack. New England College would get another run in the bottom half of the inning, as Nunez doubled home,
Anderson Jimenez, making it 10-4 Mountaineers. SVC would tack on one more run in the sixth inning, pushing their lead to 11-4.
Game Two Southern Vermont College 10, New England College 5 Game two would be a pitcher's duel in the early innings as neither team would get more than one hit. In the fourth inning, Southern Vermont struck for seven runs on just two hits. In the bottom half of the inning, the Pilgrims would get on the board with a
Joe Maestu double to right center field, plating Delaney. New England College would score two more times in the frame, as Jimenez scored on a ground out and
Christian Aybar drove in Maestu with a single to right field making it 7-3 SVC.
In the fifth inning, the Pilgrims would get within two, as Castillo doubled down the left field line, plating
Bobby Fulkerson before Delaney scored on an RBI groundout from Jimenez. The Mountaineers would add three insurance runs in the top of the seventh, to extend their lead to 10-5.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS-This was the first time that these two teams have met on the baseball diamond, SVC now leads the all-time series 2-0.
