Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. The New England College bats come alive, as the Pilgrims tied a season-high four home runs in baseball's 19-7 win over Plymouth State University in non-conference action, Thursday afternoon at Laurie Cox Memorial Field.

HOW IT HAPPENEDNew England College jumped out to the early lead, as Xavier Nunez scored on an Evan Delaney sacrifice fly to right field. Plymouth State would take the lead in the top of the second, as James Salta hit a two-run home run to left center field. The Panthers added another run on a Joe Routhier single to left field, and then he scored on an NEC error.
The Pilgrims showed their power in the third and fourth inning, as they got long balls from
Connor Morin and
Nick Powers.
Anderson Jimenez tied the game for New England College, as he doubled off the top of the left field fence, scoring Manuel Alejandro from second in the bottom of the fourth.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Pilgrims regained the lead, as Powers hit his second home run of the game. In the top of the sixth, Routhier struck again for the Panthers, as the sophomore drove in James Salta. In the bottom of the frame, NEC extended their advantage, as Jimenez scored on a bases-loaded walk before two runs would cross the plate on a Powers single to center field.
Plymouth State got within two (9-7), as they plated a run in both the seventh and eighth inning. In the bottom half of the eighth, the Pilgrims exploded for 10 runs in the home half of the inning. Morin would kick start the inning with an RBI double, Delaney would follow Morin with a double of his own before Alejandro singled home, Delaney. Luis Atiles and
Rob Pagliuca would pick up RBIs, as they would each draw a bases-loaded walk. Morin would end the game with a grand slam down the right field line, putting NEC up 19-7.
Shaun Cormier got the win for New England College, as the sophomore went 6.0 innings, allowing four runs with two strikeouts.
Selah Dalomba and Jameson Carey would each throw one inning in relief for NEC, with two hits and striking out one.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS-This was the 32
nd meeting all-time between the two schools, Plymouth State leads 26-6.
-The middle of the New England College lineup was dominating on the day. Morin, Delaney, and Powers combined to go 8-for-12 at the plate with four home runs and 15 RBI.
-Plymouth State is notorious on the base-path, as they lead Division III with 4.33 steals per game. The NEC pitching staff limited them to just one stolen base on the afternoon.
