HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mounties struck in the top of the first inning when Matthew McCourt reached on a fielder's choice to bring home Daniel Singer. However, Evan Delaney scored
Christian Aybar to tie the game in the bottom of the first inning. Mount Aloysius capitalized on Pilgrim errors in the third inning where they struck three times to open up a 4-1 lead. They continued to add insurance runs as three more runs were plated in the fifth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Jeam Castillo scored Aybar after he drove a ball through the right side. In the seventh, Aybar earned a sacrifice fly that scored
Connor Morin which made the score 7-3. Extra insurance was added by the Mounties in the top of the ninth to extend the lead to 9-3. Jameson Carey earned a pinch hit double, trying to spark a Pilgrim rally, which
Bobby Fulkerson hit an opposite field single to score Carey but that was all the offense the Pilgrims could muster.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
-This was the first meeting all-time. The Mounties are 1-0 against the Pilgrims.
-The Pilgrims wrap-up their spring break trip with a 7-1 record and scored double digit runs in all but one game.
