HOW IT HAPPENEDMorin got the scoring started for the Pilgrims in the top of the second, as he drove in Evan Delaney with a single.
Jeam Castillo would score one batter later.
New England College would extend their lead in the fourth inning, as Morin hit a two-RBI triple, before scoring on a fielding error by the Lions, one batter later. NEC would tack on one more run as
Bobby Fulkerson crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly off the bat of
Manuel Andujar.
The Pilgrims continued to pile on the runs in the top of the fifth, as Manuel Alejandro scored on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Castillo. Morin stepped to the plate next and drove in a pair with a single, making it 10-0 NEC.
Emerson finally broke through in the bottom of the sixth, as Quinton Copeland scored on a Cam Beattie single. The Lions would tack on three more runs in the seventh, but all three runs were unearned.
Shayne Audet picked up the win, as the sophomore got the start on the mound for the Pilgrims going three innings while striking out four batters.
