Kayla Paquin scored the game-winner in the 79
th minute, lifts the New England College women's soccer team over Becker College, 1-0 in New England Collegiate Conference action, Saturday afternoon on senior day.

HOW IT HAPPENEDBecker College started on the attack, firing three shots in the opening 12 minutes of the contest. New England College picked up their first shot on target in the 18
th minute, as
Leeann Demirjian rifled on goal. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, but NEC had the best opportunities. The Pilgrims were awarded a penalty kick in the 42nd minute, but it just missed wide. With time winding down in the half, New England College were given three corner kicks in the waning minutes of the first but were unable to capitalize.
NEC was able to carry over the momentum that they established in the final minutes of the first half, into the second half, as they had back-to-back shots in the 52
nd minute. In the 72
nd minute, New England College nearly got on the board, but a hit post, block shot, and a wide shot would keep the Pilgrims off the scoreboard. Minutes later, Paquin was able to loft the ball over the Becker goal keeper's head and tuck the ball just under the crossbar to give NEC the late advantage.
Prior to the game, the New England College Athletic Department and women's soccer team recognized nine seniors.
GOALKEEPERSAllie Stoddart recorded four saves en route to her fourth shutout of the season. Olivia Sherwood picked up five saves for the Hawks.
