Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. - The New England College women's soccer team earned a 5-0 win in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action over the Wildcats of Bay Path University.
With the win, the Pilgrims improve to 6-5-1 on the season with a 2-0-1 record in the NECC. The Wildcats will fall to 5-2-1 with a 2-1 record in the NECC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams battled for nearly 25 minutes but the Pilgrims broke through first. Tara Bainbridge (South Hadley, Mass.) found herself open in the front of the Wildcat goal. Emilie Nowakowski (Meriden, Conn.) put a ball high in the air from the left side of the field directly to Bainbridge's head. The tally is the first of the year for Bainbridge.
The Pilgrims would continue on the momentum they gained as Emma Zanni (Merrimack, N.H.) found open space up the right side of the field and put a ball through the
Wildcat defensive line. Meghan Oliver (Atkinson, N.H.) received the pass and made no mistake when she fired her shot to the back of the net.
The Pilgrims would strike early in the second half. In the 52
nd minute, Madison Wheeler (Benton City, Wash.) took a free kick from about 30 yards out. She put it towards the goal and Emily LePage (West Greenwich, R.I.) beat the Wildcat goalkeeper.
LePage would score again on a rebound shot off the post to give the Pilgrims a 4-0 lead before Paxton Couture (Rochester, N.H.) would tally her third of the season to make it 5-0.
GOALKEEPERS
Kayla Pugliese (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), Emily Sashko (Mayfield, Penn.), and Sierra Wilson (Winthrop, Maine) combined for the Pilgrim shutout with the win going to Pugliese. The trio made six saves while Caitlyn Esposito made 11 saves on 16 shots on goal for the Wildcats.

The Pilgrims will have a quick turnaround as they host #5 Middlebury College for a 12 p.m. start on Sunday.
