FRANKLIN, Mass.-The New England College volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Dean College on Tuesday evening in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action. Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, and 25-23.
The win boosts the Pilgrims to 6-14 overall and 2-0 in league play, while Dean falls to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Meaghan Six (Manchester, N.H.) paced the defense with 16 digs.
Freshmen setters Maggie Dadmun (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims used a 28-kill day to remain undefeated in conference play. NEC won the first four points of the first set and used that as momentum, eventually opening a 14-5 advantage midway through the set.
The second set opened in similar fashion as NEC again won the first four points and held a six-point lead midway through the frame. This time, Dean was poised for a comeback, and used two three-point stretches to come within one point, 16-15, midway through the set. Barron served four-straight points to open up a 22-16 advantage for the Pilgrims, and NEC won the race to 25.
The third set would prove to be the closest of the day, as the two teams found themselves tied at 20-20 late in the set. Dean took a two-point lead, 22-20, and again at 23-21, but NEC used a Dean ball handing error, a kill by Julia Ostrov (Mililani, Hawaii) and an attack error by Dean to score the final three points for the 25-23 victory.

The Pilgrims play their next two matches in Henniker, as they host St. Joseph's College of Maine on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Elms College in NECC play at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
