Box Score BANGOR, MAINE - The New England College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against North Atlantic Conference foe, Husson University on Saturday afternoon. The Pilgrims outshot the Eagles 20-14, 10-8 on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.
With the tie, the Pilgrims are now 5-8-2, 4-2-1 in the NAC while Husson goes to 6-5-1-, 5-1-1 in the NAC.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The best scoring opportunity for the Pilgrims occurred late in the first half when
Nicole Cotrone (West Greenwich, R.I.) beat the Eagles goalkeeper but could not beat the crossbar.
Kayla Pugliese (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) made a diving save early in the second overtime to preserve the draw. Husson's Leah Hibbad (Portsmouth, R.I.) found open space and fired a shot forcing Pugliese to dive to her right.
GOALKEEPERS
Pugliese made eight saves on the day while Sami Ireland (Howland, Maine) made nine saves and got help with a team save.
