Women’s Lacrosse Tabbed 10th in GNAC Preseason Poll

HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's lacrosse team was picked 10th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason poll conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. 

Defending GNAC champion Emmanuel was picked to finish first in the poll, receiving 10 first-place votes and 190 total points. Norwich was voted second with two first-place votes and 179 points, while Saint Joseph's (Maine) claimed the third spot, receiving 167 points. 

Colby-Sawyer, Lasell, Simmons, Rivier, and Regis completed the projected playoff field in fourth through eighth place, while Dean, NEC, the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), Elms, Mitchell, and Albertus Magnus round out positions nine through 14. 

The Pilgrims open their season on Saturday, February 28th, hosting Gordon College in a 1:00 PM non-conference matchup. The 'Grims open conference play on Wednesday, March 11th, as they host Elms College at Don Melander Field at 4:00 PM.
