Women's Lacrosse Closes Out Season Against Colby-Sawyer

HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's lacrosse team came up short in their season finale against visiting Colby-Sawyer College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday at Don Melander Field in Henniker, New Hampshire. 

THE BASICS 
Score: Colby-Sawyer College: 17, New England College: 4 
Records: Chargers: 10-6, 7-4 GNAC, Pilgrims: 6-11, 4-7 GNAC 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Chargers got the scoring started from sophomore Rose Finlayson (Hopkinton, N.H.) as she netted her 34th goal of the season. The Pilgrims answered back with two quick goals from junior attacker Mackenzie McDonald (Boscawen, N.H.) and sophomore midfielder Carmela Goodwin (Lebanon, N.H.). 

  • Colby-Sawyer scored seven straight before junior attacker Meadow Gilchrist (Stamford, Conn.) scored her 48th goal of the season off a pass from graduate midfielder Annalisa Crooks (Nantucket, Mass.). Gilchrist added one more as the Chargers kept the game out of reach to close out the thirteen-goal win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Chargers senior goalie AJ Paton (Exeter, N.H.) made one save on five shots as Pilgrims junior goalkeeper Isabella Marzano (Warwick, R.I.) finished with ten saves. 

  • Colby-Sawyer senior Heather Hanson (Barnstable, Mass.) led the game with seven shots on goal as the Chargers totaled 27. Gilchrist and Goodwin both led the Pilgrims with two shots on goal. 

UP NEXT 

  • The Pilgrims have finished their 2025 campaign with a .6-11 overall record with a 4-7 record in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
