NFHCA Release
Colorado Springs, Colo. - Seniors Cristina Manzi (Peapack, N.J.) and Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.J.) of the New England College field hockey team were named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Watchlist on Thursday morning.Â
Manzi is coming off a strong junior season where she started all 20 games for the Pilgrims with nine goals and eight assists – both career bests. Her 26 points last season is the most of all returning players. After earning a spot on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Third Team a year ago, Manzi figures to be one of the team's top offensive options entering the 2025 campaign. Â
Anderson had a stellar 2024 season in Henniker, starting between the pipes in all 20 games and compiling a 16-4 record. As a junior, Anderson totaled 79 stops with five shutouts and 0.77 goals against average. She ranked top 10 in Division-III with a .849 save percentage, solidifying herself as one of the premiere goalkeepers in the country. The stage has been set for the reigning GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year to deliver an equally impressive encore performance here in 2025.Â
The NFHCA's Watchlist is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. Â
