HENNIKER, N.H. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 2024 Division III Scholars of Distinction on Monday, recognizing four members of the New England College field hockey team.
The NFHCA Scholars of Distinction program celebrates the academic excellence of undergraduate collegiate student-athletes. This prestigious recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year, and who have been nominated by their dedicated NFHCA member coaches. Overall, the NFHCA recognized 509 students across several institutions who met these criteria.
Hailing from the NEC field hockey team, four student-athletes were recognized with this honor: sophomore
Lauren Hall (Belfast, Maine), sophomore
Conley Ladabouche (Barre, Vt.), freshman
Kennedy Overhoff (Whitefield, N.H.), and senior
Meaghan McCamish (Warwick, R.I.).
McCamish remarkably
earns Scholar of Distinction status for the fourth consecutive year. Both Hall and Ladabouche have been recognized for their second straight year, while Overhoff earned this recognition in her freshman season.
"These young women are exemplary student-athletes," said head coach
Carly Sweeney. We are extremely proud of their dedication to their academic success."
