HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College alpine ski teams hosted the NEC Invitational held at Pat's Peak over the weekend, facing teams from UMaine-Farmington, St. Joseph's College of Maine, the University of Maine, Bowdoin University, and Colby-Sawyer College.
DAY 1 – GIANT SLALOM
- Graduate Malin Alusic-Bingham (Antrim, N.H.) continued to excel in the giant slalom, tying for first place with UMaine-Farmington's Elanore Robb (Woodbury, Minn.) with a total time of 1:21.95. Her first run clocked in at 40.33 which was the fastest of the day. With a share of first place, she now has four first place finishes this season – all in the giant slalom.
- Sophomore Lorelei Holloway (Ashland, Va.) finished in 22nd place with runs of 46.92 and 47.64 for a total time of 1:34.56.
- Senior Madeline Ten Kate (Dryden, N.Y.) came in with a total time of 1:37.72 after individual runs of 48.08 and 49.64.
- NEC freshman Peyton Holmes (Hooksett, N.H.) crossed the line at 1:40.17 while senior Abby Duffy (Concord, N.H.) totaled a time of 1:46.85.
- Sophomore Hogan Bemis (Stow, Maine) paced the men's team with a 14th place finish, logging times of 40.45 and 40.90 for a total time of 1:21.35.
- Junior Robert Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.) finished in 22nd place with a combined time of 1:26.32.
- Graduate Colin Shaw (Colebrook, N.H.) skied to a 24th place finish with times of 43.39 and 43.65 for an accumulated 1:27.04.
- Senior Zac Lacasse (Hudson, N.H.) clocked in a total time of 1:29.20 while freshman Owen Kizak (Manchester, N.H.) rounded out the group with a time of 1:29.36.
DAY 2 – SLALOM
- Alusic-Bingham followed her first-place finish on Saturday with a fifth-place finish in the slalom on Sunday. With times of 56.60 and 58.25, Malin finished just five seconds behind first place with a total time of 1:54.85.
- Holloway improved to a 16th place finish after posting times of 1:05.12 and 1:08.04 for a total of 2:13.16.
- Holmes had the third best time for the ladies' race, finishing in 22nd place with runs of 1:09.88 and 1:10.77 for a total time of 2:20.65.
- Ten Kate finished with a combined time of 2:25.45 while Duffy came in behind her with a total time of 2:32.22.
- Bemis excelled on Sunday, skiing to a T-5th place finish on the men's side – his best of the season. He posted runs of 52.96 and 54.06 for a solid total of 1:47.02.
- Kizak was the lone other Pilgrim to finish both runs behind Bemis, with the freshman posting times of 1:09.28 and 1:13.33 for a combined time of 2:22.61.

With a third place overall finish, the women's team qualified for regionals and will travel to Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine for the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships next weekend. The Giant Slalom race is scheduled for Saturday, February 15th, and the slalom is set for Sunday, February 16th.
