HENNIKER, N.H. - Sophomore goalkeeper Anna McGinty (Duxbury, Mass.) of the NEC women's ice hockey team was named the Little East Conference (LEC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending on November 23rd.
The Pilgrims had just one game this week but McGinty made the most of the opportunity, making a career-high 59 saves in a 3-1 win over Plymouth State. The win is the team's third of the short season and second in conference play. Anna's 59 saves are the second most in the LEC so far this season.
McGinty's 1.00 goals-against average and .983 save percentage from Friday night's win increased her season numbers to 2.65 and .944. Her .944 save percentage is the third best mark in the Little East, and she sits first in saves per game.
NEC will take a quick trip down I-93 on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup against Rivier starting at 4:00 PM. The team resumes conference play after the Thanksgiving break as they visit UMass-Boston on Friday, December 3rd.
